Occupational Therapy Early Intervention

Our state of the art, paediatric clinic provides early intervention for children with disabilities and developmental challenges. The clinic consists of multiple world class sensory gyms, access to a pool, tennis courts and walking tracks. Additionally, our clinic is within walking distance from beautiful beaches. Evidence based therapy interventions include however are not limited to 1:1 therapy session, Somatic Therapy, DIR Floor Time, SOS Feeding Therapy, Lego Therapy social skills groups, Loose Parts Play, ADL functional skills, school readiness, nature therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy, fine motor and gross motor development and much more.

Functional Skill Building Cottage

Our 'Cubby House' or Skill Building Cottage, is a place where our clients can matriculate from early intervention into skill building. This peaceful, fully renovated and equipped skill building cottage caters to all ages. At The Cubby House, our therapists, AHAs and support staff run a variety of skill building sessions such as cooking, gardening and social interaction skill building. The house enables teens and emerging adults to gain life skills and build independence. We also have an in-house counsellor that operates between The Zilzie Clinic and The Cottage.

Support Coordination and Disability Support Services

Capricorn Coast Disability Services (CCDS), is CCOTS sister company, providing support work and support coordination services to clients on the Capricorn Coast. CCDS runs out of the 'Loft' and is managed by our Director, Ben Clarke. The 'Loft' is utilised as a social skill building hub and interactive development venue designed to get the mind and body moving. Additionally, the Loft is used to assist clients with finding and keeping employment. 

Eating Pasta

SOS Approach to Feeding and Eating 

Using the SOS Approach to Feeding and Eating, our SOS Trained Occupational Therapists deliver feeding therapy to assist children who have feeding disorders and/or are picky eaters. The SOS Feeding Therapy is delivered in a 12-week group or individual therapy setting.

Lego Based Therapy

Lego based therapy focuses on building social skills whilst simultaneously developing practical skills. Each client is assigned a specific role to perform during the Lego session, all individuals must then work together, practicing communication, expressive language, social skills and regulation, to achieve the common goal of finishing the build. All clinicians are trained in Lego Based Therapy.

Holiday Intensive Programs

Each school holidays CCOTS runs group social skills programs, focusing on facilitating social engagement with clients. These sessions range from loose parts play, social skill groups, Lego based therapy and school readiness. Our occupational therapists work together to select clients who are suited to each other, to facilitate the best outcomes.

Allied Health Assistants

Our Allied Health Assistants (AHA's) provide therapy intervention under the direct or indirect supervision from one of our Occupational Therapists. AHA's implement programs and intervention to clients, predominately focusing on gross motor and coordination skills. Additionally, our AHA's work as Support Workers for our sister company Capricorn Coast Disability Services (CCDS).

Student Mentoring and Development

At CCOTS we are passionate about giving back to the community. One way in which we give back is by hosting university and high-school students, to assist in their studies and inspire the next generation of Occupational Therapists. At CCOTS we pride ourselves on hosting students and providing them a family-centered, evidence-based learning experience.
